Funding Win For Spark

July 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that we have received a significant grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) to continue and expand our work tackling loneliness and fostering stronger, more connected communities. The Adelaide Hills will remain our base of operations and focus, whilst we extend our reach into the Alexandrina and Murray Bridge council areas. “We are so grateful to the NHMRC for their faith in us. Spark has demonstrated the power of community-led action in reducing loneliness. This funding will enable us to strengthen our offering and reach more communities across South Australia, while continuing to build the evidence base for what truly empowers communities to take action and thrive. Our vision is a future where everyone feels belonging and communities are inclusive, resilient and compassionate," says Dr Nadia Corsini, Spark Co-Creator and Senior Research Fellow, UniSA

We’re so looking forward to sparking connection with our community partners: Centre for Health in All Policies Research Transation, Office for Ageing Well – Dept. of Human Services, The Hut Community Centre, Zest Creative Living Life, Uniting Communities, Community Centres SA, Adelaide Hills Council, Alexandrina Council, Murray Bridge Community Centre, Tall Trees Counselling & Psychotherapy, The Rural City of Murray Bridge, Anglican Community Care Inc, Carers SA, Lutheran Care, Skylight, The University of Adelaide and Health Translation SA.
